Hey friends. This is Dr. Brenden Cochran at Interactive Health Clinic. Today, we’re going to talk about an amino acid called glycine. Now glycine, if you’ve ever had it orally, it tastes sweet like sugar, but it has no impacts really on your blood sugar. Most people, if you’ve read about glycine, you may understand that it’s generally a calming agent. Why? It kind of works like Ambien or Benzodiazepine works on a similar, similar receptor site to calm your system down. Now, the only exception to that is there are some people with bipolar tendencies that really shouldn’t do glycine until they know more about their biochemistry. Glycine is generally very calming on people. So, we’ve used it clinically with people who are trying to get off alcohol are trying to get off medications that help them sleep or people who are having anxiety, right.

It can be very helpful in that use. We use it orally, we find it most beneficial as an IV or intermuscular injection. We use it in those formula a lot. Now not only is glycine calming and that’s what generally people find. It is extremely important in phase two detoxification. This is the second step in your liver where it helps you eliminate a lot of toxic agents. Glycine is required for that. So not only are you getting a calm agent, which is extremely important, especially in this stressful age we’re at, but you’re also getting an agent that’s extremely effective at detoxification, such as solvents and other harmful chemicals. Glycine can be extremely important in that process. We find that the fastest way to get results is by using it in our proprietary IVs or proprietary intermuscular injections.
