Hey friends. This is Dr. Brenden Cochran at Interactive Health Clinic. Today I want to talk about glutathione. So if you, most of you have probably already heard about glutathione. If you haven’t, you’re missing out on very, very, very important nutrient. Glutathione is natural. Your liver produces this as a rich antioxidant to protect you from the damages that occur from toxic elements in the environment, but also oxidative stress that happens with normal metabolism. Now, there is a medication that drops glutathione levels in your body. It’s called acetaminophen. Acetaminophen, if you take too much of it, it drops those things really low, and it can cause actual serious liver damage. If you take too much, we use it in a effort to help prevent disease, proactive strategy, or we use it in chronic health to rehab a person. We know that the more we can get glutathione levels up in the person, the less or the slower their disease process is going to go because of a quenching that oxidative stress reaction.

So what are ways that we can do this one? We can give you straight glutathione. We can give it to you as an injectable nutrient shot, or we can give it to you as an infusion or intravenous nutrient infusion. Now, what does this thing do when you’re getting it, we often start with a lower, and then we can ramp you up to quite high dosages. Now, the reason we start low is we don’t know how much toxicity you have in your liver, right? A lot of people can have detox reactions with this if we go too quickly. So we start low, we ramp you up with this. However, most of our patients, what do they experience, if they’re not having a detox, what they often experience is they say they, their brain is clearer. They’re having less trouble, you know, if they do partake in exercises, or if they do partake in say indulging in things that are treats like alcohol or bad foods, they see that they can tolerate those things better.

Most people, again like it because cognitive function improves, skin health improves, GI function improves. Generally we help reduce the aging time. Basically. We slow that down. It’s a wonderful nutrient to add on to an IV. It’s a wonderful thing to have a discussion with us because you can give it in different ways. Though we find IV route is the best. There are other routes that are also work really well. However, if you take it in a pill form, most of those pill forms are not absorbed very well at all. There is a specific delivery mechanism that has to be utilized, and this is something called liposomal. The, the thing is with liposomal, you want to make sure it’s very clean. And if you have problems with things like soy, there are different products out there that are soy free or do have soy depending on your situation as part of the liposomal process.

So, if you like to discuss these things, if you’d like to learn more about glutathione, please give us a call or visit us at Interactive Health Clinic we strive to provide you with a personalized health approach, and you can reach us at 425-361-7945 or visit our website at www.interactivehealthclinic.com.
